Innovative Psychotherapy Solutions is a unique psychotherapy practice providing in-home treatment for those children and adolescents that may benefit from more than just the typical psychotherapy model (e.g., a 45-minute office visit every other week).
At the core of our treatment model is at least two, two-hour in-home sessions per week with a Master's level counselor. These sessions involve a blend of psychotherapy (typically cognitive-behavioral therapy), behavior modification, and mentorship - customized to meet the needs of the child or adolescent.
In addition to the multiple, extended sessions per week with the counselor, the fee also includes:
-
A comprehensive diagnostic evalucation with Dr. Mike, where the history of the presenting problem is discussed, previous and current treatments are clarified, a DSM-5 diagnosis is formulated, recommendations are made, and the treatment plan is developed.
-
Staffings, which occur every four weeks and involve the entire treatment team - parents, the client, the client's counselor, and Dr. Mike. If the client is working with a psychiatrist, other mental health professional, and/or school personnel (e.g., guidance counselor, special education teacher, homeroom teacher, etc.), we would be happy to include them in the staffings as well. During staffings, the client's progress toward his or her treatment goals are discussed and the treatment plan is evaluated and revised as needed.
-
Weekly individual and group supervision for the counselors. In order to provide quality service to our clients, our counselors receive both individual and group supervision with Dr. Mike every week. Supervision sessions last approximately one hour, and counselors receive direct feedback regarding their application of treatment modelities with their clients.
-
Access and open communication with the client's counselor and Dr. Mike. In order for this treatment approach to be successful, there is a heavy emphasis on the inclusion of the treatment team - which includes parents and the clients themselves. Parents and clients are welcome and encouraged to reach out to the members of the clinical team outside of regularly scheduled sessions.
